COFFEE & WINE SPILLS
sKēnographia is funded by The Arts Council
sKēnographia is a series of free online creative lectures, workshops, panels and information clinics that showcase the broad and diverse range of voices and disciplines in the scenographic world, while engaging with the performing arts sector at large.
This project marks a milestone in the growth of scenography education in Ireland, aiming to facilitate discussion, exploration and innovation, as well as defining standards for visual rigour and best practices. It aims to give visibility to key information, new technologies and developments that are fundamental to the growth of scenography as an art form in Ireland.
The project addresses current necessities of design for performance, from aesthetics to inclusivity, practical matters such as finances, and material / human sustainability.
It also aims to give voice to the often neglected behind-the-scenes sphere, from costume-makers to production and stage managers, and technicians.
sKēnographia is presented in association with Project Arts Centre.
The first & second series were funded by The Arts Council Theatre Resource and Development Scheme 2021 & 2022.
The third series is funded under The Arts Council Arts Grant Funding Scheme 2024.
In the second series, as part of sKēnographia, we introduced Coffee & Wine SPILLS. These informal gatherings are presented in partnership with Irish Theatre Institute.
