Ian Veenman is a Dutch songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist living and studying in Dublin. After finishing his bachelor’s in ‘Commercial Modern Music Songwriting’ at BIMM University, he is currently working on obtaining his masters (phil) in ‘Music and Media Technology’ at Trinity College Dublin. Ian has established himself as both a creator and performer in Dublin, getting to work with original Irish artists such as Tosin, Malaki and Ailsha. Besides his interaction with the Irish pop/rock/jazz music sphere, he has also accumulated experience as a teacher for piano/voice, done hands-on audio engineering work, created original composition for, Dublin Culture Night is actively performing as the keys player for award winning Irish eventband ‘The Ratzingers’ and has recently been the recipient of a place in the ISPD mentorship programme working with Denis Clohessy.
Fundamentally, Ian is interested in sound as a vessel for conveying meaning. Whether that is in connection to language, the stage, the screen, etc. He is continuously trying to gain a deeper understanding of sound as a medium whilst also developing his own creative voice to reflect said growth.
