Francis has been designing professionally since 1987 when he graduated from Wimbledon School of Art. His work includes drama, music theatre and opera and has been seen around the world.
He has a long association with the Abbey and the Gate but his most enduring relationship is with Garry Hynes and Druid. Their work together on Martin McDonaghs Leenane Trilogy, Druid Synge, Druid Murphy, Druid OCasey and Druid Shakespeare has been particularly important and rewarding.
